Fargo Heap Resizer-more heap space for Tungsten T and T2

Frantisek Dufka has a Tungsten T and a T2. However, he is permanentely low on dynamic memory, just like I was when I had mine. Thus, he now has created a heap extender called Fargo Heap Resizer.

This program will extend the Tungsten T or T2's heap to a total of 1.8MB. This may not be enough for Quake, but definitely helps out with regular programs!
This somrehow sounds similar to UDMH, but the big difference is the price. The program is freeware for all kinds of use!

The author claims that it works in a different wy than UDMH. While UDMH uses Storage Memory for dynamic RAM and switches banks around,..., this program really expands the dynamic heap! So, there is less risk involved for the storage heap.

Visit the homepage for further information and instructions. The program curently does not suport anything but a TT and a T2, but Frantisek Dufka has information on his homepage about what needs to be done if one wants his device supported!

We have archived the release version that was current as of today, the 20th October 2005 on Tamoggemon.com. It can be downloaded here.

Please keep in mind that I have not yet tested the application! Please post here if it works on your box!

1. I it runs just great on my T1. I can even watch PDF files with the new PalmPDF version. Only in b/w, but I have 1.8 MB free dynamic heap.

2. FHR doesn't remove the protection of the storage heap. FHR doesn't patch system vectors. FHR doesn't stay in background all the time. 3 very good reasons why it is much safer than UDMH.

3. The application is free. UDMH isn't.
