UniCMD - now it's freeware

UniCMD, one of the best file managers for Palm OS is now freeware:

It supports RAM, ROM, VFS, launching applications, viewing many file types, f. e. JPEG/exif, HTML with the internal viewer, viewing every file a viewer is installed for (file associations), backup (manual or scheduled), encryption, editing TXT, ZIP-compression, and much more.

Thank you for posting this note!
While not a glitzy as ZLauncher, it seems to be quite functional and very useful.
Anyone know how to launch their graphics viewer outside of the UniCMD environment? Kind of funny - they ask other developers to post methods of launching their software (and I agree they OUGHT to, not just for UniCMD but other launchers and applications as well, like hyperlinks in Word documents or in email), but UniCMD's developer doesn't post how to launch his own ;-)

actually, AFAIK, the ways for launching email programs(for sure) and web browsers(50% sure) is more-less specified by the Palm OS.
Anyways, the main problem I see is the difficult UI!

"More or less" might be right.
Palm has had a couple of different (read as "non-compatible") methods depending on the OS version for dealing with non-Palm specific application files, but seems to have always been centered about BEAMING. They have really pretty much ignored file extension associations on memory cards.
Maybe things are getting better - my experiences are PalmOS 4 and earlier.

AFAIK PalmOne/Palm Inc has a new method defined for its Files application as found on the T5 and LifeDrive. No assurances though...
