Please help-WebPro and RealOne for Clie/Zodiac

Well, it is time again. After having made NetFront compatible with all other kinds of handheld, it is now time to do the same treatment to WebPro and RealOne. These two products also limit their target audience to a specific brand of handheld-without any real reason except marketing(and the Sound API problem on some Clies).

If you want to test, please download MakeTungsten. Install it to your handheld, get your hands onto RealOne or WebPro and install them too. then, click the button that corresponds to the handheld that you want to become. Alas, run the program! I have not yet had the opportunity to test myself, but I did a reverse test. Makeclie blocked both WebPro and RealOne on my T3.

This version of the program can emulate the following handhelds:
  • Tungsten T3
  • Tungsten T5
  • Tungsten C
  • Tungsten T
  • Treo 650
This means that it may also be possible to get Blazer 4 running, but I could not yet get my hands on the files.

Some Sony Handhelds use a proprietary sound API. These machines need an emulator than emulates the PalmSource standard one-please refer to 1src for further informations!

As always-no warranties. And keep the feedback coming, guys!

Testing on a Clie TJ35.

In Launcher, icon says "MakeMeClie" rather than "MakeMeTungsten"

Choosing menu silkscreen from UI gives crash with: UIRescource.c line 235 menu rsrc not found

Choosing a Tungsten device from UI, OK at warning then Home silkscreen gives crash with: Fatal Exception

Hope this helps, look forward to trying the next version.

...update to my previous comment.

Turning off Lightspeed overclocking stops Fatal Exception error - still get menu problem though...

Cheers,

Hi,
there is already an update that fixes the menun problem and the icon problem-thank you for emailing in!
Please delete old version and reinstall!
BTW, the problem with LightSpeed is domestic due to how the program works!

Hi there,
Can this utility be modified to make a T5 look like a T3 to software and hardware? I would like to run the Veo Camera software on my T5. It will only recognize a T3.

Thanks in advance for your time.

Is this supposed to work on a Zodiac? I tried MakeTungsten on my Zodiac 2 and I get the "Unsigned Application" error.

Hi you all,
I am already emailing Tapwave. Expect it by next week!
STH else-this message is only a warning to clie users that they stil need the sound API emulator. It can be ignored!

Thanks Tam, this is really good. I've a couple of programs (Xcade and Wavelet from Codejedi) that don't do sound as they assume if its a Clie it doesn't have the API (even though the TJ35 does!) - this fixes the problem - nice one!

If you could add an option to set the Clie/Tungsten indicator based on the program running that would be superb!

Cheers,

Gav

MakeTungsten on TH55?

Is MakeTungsten running on my Sony TH55 ?

I want to run a WLAN-Sniffer like NetChaser. Is this possible?

Hi Tam,
Thanks for this "MakeMeTungsten" download. I have a Zodiac 2 with a dev app on it so that I can run unsigned apps. I have run "Make Tungsten" (and see the "!!!NOT FOR ZODIAC!!!" message). It runs. When I click one of the buttons, say, "Make TT5", I get a popup "API Warning" stating that the product does not emulate any API. Is this normal? Is this same message shown on non-Zodiac devices?

Second question, does anyone have a copy of Blazer 4 prc for me to test with?

Thanks
